Installation
How to install Kiosk Library on Windows.
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- RAM: 4 GB minimum
- Disk Space: ~100 MB for the application
- Internet: Not required (Kiosk is fully offline)
Installing Kiosk
- Download the
.exeinstaller from the download page. - Run the installer and follow the setup wizard.
- Launch Kiosk from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut.
Windows security warning? Windows may show a SmartScreen popup saying “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway to continue. This appears because the installer isn’t code-signed — Kiosk is safe to install.
That’s it. No accounts, no sign-ups, no internet needed.
First Launch
When Kiosk starts for the first time, you’ll find three default categories already set up: Assets, HDRI, and Textures. Each comes with Polyhaven pre-configured as a source, so you can start browsing and downloading free assets right away.
From here you can:
- Add more sources to any existing category — point Kiosk to folders on your machine
- Create new categories for anything else in your library (e.g., Volumes, Lights, References)
- Adjust file filters per source — file extension filters are configured per source, not per category
Installing DCC Plugins
Each DCC app has its own plugin. Install them through Kiosk’s Plugin Manager:
- Open App Menu → Plugin Manager
- Select a DCC (Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, or Houdini)
- Click Install
- Browse to your DCC’s installation directory
- Kiosk copies the plugin files and confirms the installation
See the Plugins page for setup details per DCC.
Activating a License
If you’ve purchased a Pro license from Gumroad:
- Open App Menu → Activate License
- Enter your license key (from your Gumroad purchase email)
- Click Activate
The source and file limits are removed immediately.
Data Location
Kiosk stores its data in your Windows AppData directory:
%APPDATA%\Kiosk\
This includes your database, thumbnails cache, plugin configurations, and settings. Your actual content files are never copied — Kiosk only creates an index pointing to their original locations.
Updating
When a new version is available, an Update button appears in the top-right corner of the main window. Click it to download the latest version.
