Quick Start

Get Kiosk Library up and running in 5 minutes.

What is Kiosk?

Kiosk is an offline content library for 3D artists. It organizes your files — models, textures, HDRIs, lights, references, anything — and lets you browse and export them directly into Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, or Houdini through integrated plugins.

Instead of relying on the same online libraries everyone else uses, Kiosk helps you build and maintain your own personal collection. Your files never leave your machine.

5-Minute Setup

1. Install Kiosk

Download the installer from the download page and run it. Kiosk installs like any Windows application.

Windows security warning? Windows may show a SmartScreen popup saying “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway to continue. This appears because the installer isn’t code-signed — Kiosk is safe to install.

2. Create a Category

When you first open Kiosk, you’ll see an empty library. Click the + button in the sidebar to create your first category. Think of categories like tabs — each one is a separate section of your library (Assets, Textures, HDRI, Lights, etc.).

3. Add a Source

Click Add Source in the Content Manager and point Kiosk to a folder. Kiosk scans it recursively and shows every matching file. You can also drag and drop a folder directly onto the Kiosk window.

4. Browse and Use

Your library is ready. Browse thumbnails in the gallery, use the search bar, or switch to list view. Right-click any file for actions like Open, Reveal in Explorer, or Copy Path.

5. Connect a DCC Plugin

To export assets directly into your 3D software:

  1. Go to App Menu → Plugin Manager
  2. Select your DCC (Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, or Houdini)
  3. Click Install and point to your DCC installation
  4. Launch Kiosk from within the DCC plugin panel to start a live session
  5. Click any asset to send it straight to your scene

Multiple Databases (Pro)

In the Pro version, you can create and switch between multiple databases using the dropdown in the bottom-left of the main window. This lets you keep separate libraries — for example a personal collection and a studio project — and switch between them instantly.
